The Mill, Grand Millennium KL

Aloha! Welcome back! I had a great night yesterday with my love, for a 5-star Hotel Buffet Dinner. As mentioned earlier, it's at Grand Millennium Hotel. We got lost again in KL, sigh. Despite the fact that we're late, receptionists there are really helpful in helping us to print the coupons, which we HAVE to present it before entering. Head off to Business Centre, just so not used to great manners and services of a 5-star employee, what I used to have is just Tesco and Carrefour Kakak!
Thanks to Receptionist for your help, but not really a good picture though...
Here goes our dinner, get your appetite and stomach ready for these!
Mister getting me different topping for oysters
What kind of toppings? More details upcoming, hold on, hold on......
The Mill's Bread Counter
Different kinds of bread, I'm not an appetizer person, plus there's no soup provided, so I skipped trying all these breads. Just skipped it and let it maintains its glory-ness will ya? :)
Mee & Meehoon Corner
Lots of choices as you can see to go with your mee or meehoon soup.
Chicken & Beef Satay
The satay sause is terrific! It's more to ang-moh style, more to sweetness than spices, people like me who can't really take spicy sauce, you must try this! It's full with peanutssss!
Indian Food Corner
Chinese Dim Sum
Vegeterian's Crunch
Grilled Onion
Doesn't this look just like a sweet lollipop :) ?
Japanese Sushi
Of course, with a lot of my favourite sashimi - Salmon!
Irresistible Seafood
As you can see, prawns, crabs, mussels, scallops, and cray fish!
Seasonings, Sauces, and Toppings
Raw Osyters
 And baby is drooling already!
Miscellaneous
Have no idea what corner is this but I had sliced duck and ham, and they're fantastic!
Caesar Salad
Humongous Cheese!
Mr.Tan in the action!
Me ;)
Here comes the very details of the very foods!
Malaysia's Best-Loved
Okay, I shall name this Malaysia's Best-Loved! Grilled salmon, raw salmon, salmon sushi, satay, oysters, dimsum... Irresistible!
Unlimit Supplies of Salmon Sushi
Well, not advice to take lots of this as the rice is quite filling, we're in buffet dinner remember?
Grilled Salmon
Very nice sauce, but the texture is a bit hard...
Har Gao
Chinese dim sum, where they put the whole prawn in, creative! It's not bad I would say, just that they put in some spring onion that Mr.Tan doesn't fancy...
Chicken & Beef Satay
I know it'll be too abstract to say it here, but these pieces are simply awesome! I think maybe they cooked it in an ang-moh way, there's a really slight taste of spicy chilli in it but, lotsa lotsa crunched peanuts in the sauce. Nicely done! The chicken and beef, not to say the best in town but they're really tender and soft, brilliant!
The Four Seaons
No-Idea-What's-This Oyster
This is tried by baby, but he had no idea how it's tasted like, so shall we skip this? ;)
Minced Beef Bacon Osyter
Topping up with lil minced beef bacon, nothing special, both tastes are acting separately, just don't compliment each other...
Seaweed Oyster
They top it up with a lil bit of milk, but this mixture is not good, to my opinion. Ops :x
Cheesy Oyster
I'm definitely a cheese lover and this piece, nice! Not too much in cheese, never override it, slightly milky taste, taste good :)
Egg & Oat Fried Shrimp
We love this! The wrapping crunch smells and tastes great! It's a bit oily though, prawns are fresh!
King of the Month
Basic recipe, fresh raw oyster, slight squeeze of lemon, tobasco sause at your choice, stir it a bit within the shell, and gulp! Nice and tasty ;p
Seafood Platter
They don't provide this, just so happen that baby managed to arrange all seafood in a plate! Inclusive of  raw oysters, raw salmon, cod fish, cray fish and 'har gao'
Mix & Match
Tummy is getting packed up, so I'm taking lesser.
Cray Fish
Cooked cray fish, no sauce no nothing, just freshness!
Caesar Salad
I'm not a vege person, but just can't resist the cheese and salad sauce! So I gave it a try, but too much of everything end up very salty!
Duck
This sliced duck over there is tasting great! Especially their sauce topped on it, mmmm!

I'm so full with main dishes, while my baby still can't get enough of oysters, I held myself back and gave desserts a try! Turn out, their desserts are freaking awesome too!!!
Self-Service Ice Kacang
I don't know whether I should name it the Ice Kacang Corner, they just don't have cincau, jelly, sago, red beans and stuff... So end up taking just milk, sugar syrup and longgan.
Chocolate Fountain
Yes! Always wanted to try chocolate fountain! Melted chocolate tastes more like dark chocolate as it's quite bitter. Choices like strawberry, marshmallow, and fruits - I picked only strawberries and marshies. And drew stuff on the plate - BTNY!
Konnyaku
Japanese jelly with strawberry bites and syrups. Nothing special about this, it tastes just like... jelly!?
Nutmeg Syrup Ais
Baby found his favourite nutmeg! But sad enough he chose the not-so-good-tasting syrup, which taste like malay kuih, ended up eating some of the nutmeg and gave up the whole bowl! XD
Desserts
This looks horrible, please pardon me, I tried my best. I was too full to taste the whole piece of every dessert so the smarty me, take the very small piece of each to give 'em a try!
Red Velvet Cake?
I'm not sure whether this is the 'legendary' red velvet but this piece of cake here is very FANTABULOUS!!! Moist sponge cake, with perfectly-mixed-sweet-sour-cream layered in between, no matter how full I am, I went back the second time and get another piece!

Ah, that's all I have to share about foods. It was a pleasant night with hun, we ate a lot a lot of meats! We're happy ;) Went out to the reception and requested Kakak to help us again for a clearer picture, well, failed. So we decided to take it by our own...
See! 'The Mill' is clearly presented with my self-snapping skill *proud*
Nee Yaa
A picture of myself! Hardly dress up nowadays, of course I have to keep this very moment ;p
In the Ladies
Check out the washroom, grand! And of course, me :)
DP's dress, Bonita's chain, CR's bag, Vincci's heels, SgWang's earring
At least my baby says I'm Hot & Pretty :D *happy*
Us
Us again, before leaving the car park. Remember claim the 3-hour free parking from the restaurant. We were lost when we were heading there, and again, we were also lost when we get out of the hotel. Well, not as bad as the former ones.

That's all for now, thank you for reading! xoxoxo

Levain Boulangerie Patisserie

After weeks of arrangement, finally we get ourselves set down to this love pastry boutique - Levain Boulangerie Patisserie. Well, I know 'bout this pastry shop through some blog posts, still remember our last trip to Paris and we were so crazy over Macaroons! There you go we have it now in Malaysia! Some thoughts and pictures to share with y'all, enjoy reading :)

It was 26th of April, after our really exhausting yoga gentle flow class, we decide to move on to our long await plan - One High Class High Tea! As usual, it's the three of us, along with a camera-man Mr. Christopher Ang, washed up, dress up, make up - Levain, here we come!

Dressed up pretty-ly pretty :)
Was too shy to take the camera to snap the main reception and the surroundings, we went quickly to upstairs and reserved a table for four, then we ordered some really nice pastries and drinks!
We got a Table No.60!
-Iced Strawberry Chocolate-
Slight taste of alcohol to boost up the chocolate taste... Yum!
-Levain Americano-
Thick aroma of coffee bean, spaces for milk, have it white with a sachet of sugar, playing a main role in our high tea session :)
-Cappuccino-
Topped with lovely foam, a sachet or half of sugar, perhaps just let the aroma be, another wonderful drink of the day...
Here comes the pastries to be shared, empty you stomach to enjoy the followings ;)
-Crispy Walnut Bread-
Crunch at the outside, aroma at the inside, with pieces of sunflower seed, nice when it's served warm, perfect it with a sip of latte!
Not to worry if it's too plain, it's applied with light sugar at the crunchy surface!
-Mango Cheese Tart-
This is more to the taste of lemon and cheese, not much of mango though...
-The Black Ball Bun-
(Thought of a funny name for it ;)
Found this piece very cute, the taste of it is hardly defined, to me it's more like a dark chocolate bun, only a slight taste of sweetness... Overall, nice..
Total Black!
Even with its filling, and it's nice!
-Apple Pie-
Perfectly sliced green apples, hidden cinnamon, thin crust based, perfectly made... To those cinnamon lover, this is definitely your favourite piece!
-Chicken Lagsana-
The aroma of the cheese, minced chicken, not too thick in between, not too salty, a healthy one, spiced up with herbs, brilliant!
-Durian Cheese Slice-
Every mouth of it tastes just like you eating piece of durian, durian lover out there, I can't guarantee you this is the best, but this is great! Worth a try!
Small bite at a time, with a thin layer of crunch, perfectly done!
-Almond Donut-
A healthier choice as compared to those Donut Shops in mall, wholemeal dough, lots of sliced almond, light sugar icing.
-Levain Macaroons-
Top from left: Framboise(Raspberry), Triple Chocolate, Cassis(Blackcurrant), Arancia(Orange), Fraise(Strawberry)
Bottom from left: Limone, Macchiato(Coffee), Fruit De La(Passion&Mango), Macha(Green Tea), Halzenut Praline
A box of 10, one piece of Macaroon will cost you RM3.00, mix and match of your own, total of 15 choices, box provided only when it's a take-away, will be served on plates if dining in.
More on the very-sweet side, we're just here to try out, not really a fan of Macaroon, sorry to fans out there, but it's not bad overall.
-Durian Macaroon-
This piece is a bit special, think it's like a Limited Edition Worldwide! Only in Malaysia! Thick in taste of Durian - King of fruits
Cost RM3.90 for a piece, purchase more for a cheaper price, price is different as compared to the rest, as it's LE, better not to complain ;p

Okay, I'm done with the food sharing, hold your step, continue reading to know more 'bout my life will ya? :)
My Leng Lui 'Felen' - Ms.Khong & Rainbow Macaroon
The Three Beautiful Us :)
We are photo freak!
Nice aye the light effect?
Ms. Khong the Pretty
Ms. Lua the Sexy
That's me x)
Mr. Ang the Sentimental
Another snap of me trying the blackcurrant!
Okay, thank you for staying tune with my blog post! My pleasure! That's all for Levain, it might not be a detailed one, but something to share about!
Levain, a pretty and serene place to drop by, for a cup of tea and pieces of macaroons, ease your step and breath, life can't be easier. Enjoy the aroma of this pastry shop, it's a beautiful one!

Tip: Getting A Number Plate

Jambo! This time round, I'm going to share an experience of us hunting for a number plate for his beloved new car a.k.a second wife! As a fresher for this society, both of us were so excited about getting a vehicle of our very own (though I'm not really contributing to the car loan, but at least petrol?!) Well, we're facing difficulties as we're too new in all these purchasing agreement and rules. So, we're here to share!

First of all, you might think you need to purchase a vehicle only you can get your number plate. NO! Number plate can be obtained at any time notwithstanding you're a vehicle owner or not. So if you're planning for one in future 5 years, go get your desire number now! Want to check out the running number till date? Click HERE & HERE!
Updated: 28/04/2011 17:35
You can also get number and alphabet in-advance according to the calendar...

My boy got on and off to this website to check out the running number plate, he's trying to get the 'chun' timing so that he can plan an office leave to go JPJ. NO! When you want that number 9999, go get it instead of waiting for the number to run!

Okay, the day starts at 05:30am! The office hour for JPJ Wangsa Maju is at 07:45am, so we've decided to depart earlier as we're heading there from Kelana Jaya LRT Station - KJ24, to Wangsa Maju LRT Station KJ3, which is 21 stations away, take around 45 minutes to travel.
Walking to station... Expecting Sun Rise :)
There you go. In case you're travelling from some other station, please estimate the time again.
We were on board around 06:00am, hunger strikes both of us so we stopped at KL Sentral Station for a quick McD breakfast, and then continue our journey to Wangsa Maju.
Us in a freezing cold coach...
Get yourself a Touch 'n Go card, I'm not sure about the pricing from KJ to WM, approximately RM 3.50 to RM4 per person. As we stopped for breakfast, our plan was 10 minutes behind so we're rushing to find a cab. Please take note that when you get out of the station, take the overhead bridge to go across the road opposite the station, you can skip the U-turn cost.

Not knowing the area very well, we prepared some small change for a taxi ride, but the friendly policeman asked us to take a bus instead - which we don't know which one to take! JPJ Wangsa Maju branch is just around the corner, the taxi ride cost us RM3.30.

Thought that we're late, we ran to the entrance. Seeing few uncles lining up with newspapers, and some middle aged guys wander around too. They'll approach you at first, presenting you this card!
Don't-know-official-or-not runner, claiming that he has over 19 years of working experience in this field. Never get to know more but, is he trying to say that he's been slacking in JPJ for the past 19 years?

Then he directed us to the second floor to get number plate, asked us to check out the running number on screen, and then!? Tell us that's not the place, ask us to wait downstairs instead... Well, from that point of time I figured that he's quite annoying, 'cause he presented a list of numbers he bought over and also a price tag over 'em. E.g W_ _ 2288 for RM1k... Sorry, it's not an amount us fresher can afford, if you're keen and capable, can just PM me I'll pass you his number ;)
Pintu 2 is located at Tingkat 2, notice the no-smoking sign, one below it is the dress code!
NOTE: Guys - Long pants and shoes only!
Lady- No short pants a.k.a proper wear only!
Yes, the runner told us it's not here but it's clearly stated there so, just ignore those runners if you found 'em irritating!
I have to mention this as the Kakak was asking her colleagues: "Hari ni allow orang masuk keh dngan seluar pendek?" So please take note! See at the far back by the pillar, is a TV screen with the running number of the day, and alphabets below it. Take a form on the left of the entrance, fill it up and get a number to queue. We were lucky no.3, but I strongly suggest you not to get the number first if you're not decisive yet!
Prepare a copy of your I.C front and back... One is sufficient but no harm getting another copy...
Draft the numbers you desire out... For the convenient of the Kakak... I enlarge it a bit :)
There you go, I don't know their work load but if there's something to ease their day, why not? :)
Such a caring person ;p
Why is there another A4 paper? The numbers above are all taken or tendered, luckily I brought extra paper to draft...
As there's not much people waiting we take our own sweet time to re-consider over and over again... And Kak Fatimah is being nice, though not much of smiling face but she's being helpful all the time, Terima Kasih Kak! Tender the number and I.C, signed, payment of RM210 - for currently running number, or number in-advance, the price is still the same - RM210.00!
The very happy car owner with his number plate done!
And it's just 08:45am in the morning, no leave required, you can get back to work just on time :)
Now, just F.Y.I an alternate way to travel to station, Metro Bus 49 - RM1.00 per ride - from JPJ to LRT station. Instead of taxi, journey to JPJ cost you mostly RM2.00 only with bus.
Cheap, convenient and frequent!
Done, leaving happily!
Again, another 21-station-of-journey...
KJ3 - KJ24
Now, let's summarized this:-
  1. Plan for the numbers you desire, a list of 'em.
  2. Documents - I.C, Form, List of numbers
  3. Dress code - Long pants & Shoes
  4. Money - RM210 + Travelling expenses
  5. Office leave - Subject to necessity
  6. Be there early.

Note: -
  1. Never rush the Kakak and yourself, you'll always have extra time to re-consider the number, kakak will allow you some time and even taking a new queue number again.
  2. Double check the link & link I gave on top to check the running alphabets and number.
  3. You can always get advanced number instead of those running on screen, and that cost NO extra payment.
  4. Also numbers that not sell of for earlier alphabets will be shown on screen, price is still the same!
  5. All repeating numbers like 1188, 2288, 1122, 4488 etc are all tendered. Reason? You should know better :)

Okay, that's all for now. I hope you find this useful, so far we didn't encounter any problem, just that the numbers we wanted are all unavailable, other than that, we're two happy road users! We got ourselves 2788, as his parent check out the Lilian Too Feng Shui book for numbers that suit him, maybe you can check that out too :)

As a consumer, I understand what a consumer needs.
