Tao, The Authentuc Asian Cuisine

As everyone else is busying for studies and preparation, we had a birthday celebration for the 2 pretty ladies, some sort of running away from books thingy, then for a quick drink (sounds not so happening...), and a quick session of karaoke (and this is freaking awesome!) - All in Sunway Giza Mall!

Too much to share about the parties in facebook, I'm here to share 'bout F.O.O.D! Special thanks to Mr Choo for the table reservation for 10, a buffet dinner it is, RM62++ per person and extra 10% off if you manage to catch the early bird session (05:30pm - 07:00pm). Yes, they made it the earlier one, Wei Sin, baby and I got there a bit late, kinda lost track to the photography craze so I decided to blog 'bout food instead of pictures :)

Tao - Authentic Asian Cuisine
As they serve Japanese sashimi and sushi, we seriously thought that it's a Japanese buffet and was teasing 'bout the 'Mamak' style chicken wings, our bad.
Price:
Service:
Food:
Comments: Few sections they have there (the buffet style) and also ala-carte menu to be ordered separately, I would say the pricing is fair enough.
As for services, if it's the only buffet dinner, no one will bother about your services but hello? You have an ala-carte menu and we were allocated at the corner table which hardly to be noticed, need to walk out to get the waitress. Ordered scallops FEW times (approximately 4 times) came only twice - Disappointed!
Food, after all, not too bad, we'll discuss a bit in the following :)

Mix  & Match
No idea what to name this picture, they have jelly fish, scallop lips, seaweeds and stuff, serve chilled with seasonings.
Appetizers
Fresh vegetables and vegetables only. Not that much of variety they have there.
Desserts
 Fruits, jelly, and sliced cakes.
Soups with All Sorts of Meatballs
Longans with White Fungus
 Served warm, another dessert corner.
Burning Teppanyaki
You may choose what you want, and they'll do the rest for you, provided that you have to give them your table number. We gave ours, but no teppanyaki shows up, so we don't get to taste, you don't get to promote, fair!
Chocolate Fountain
With no marshmallows and strawberries. Well I might be too picky for this but aren't things supposed to be like that? They just have it flowing non-stop so people serve this over their ice creams, some kinds of McD Choco Top?
Sashimi
Look empty, I wasn't late for this snap but everytime they refill, those sashimi will just gone missing in less than minutes.
Sushi
Almost everything there, except for my salmon sushi :(
Room for Group
We took the one which fits 10, better stay low as this is no sound proof room!
Oysters
I like the effect of light they put it under the ice, the oysters somehow look fresh with it!
As usual, baby will  be crazy over oysters, tobasco, and lemon squeeze, like 20 of them!
Prawns
Lemon sliced for everything, prawn, cooked but I didn't try it...

Tomatoes
This is Sweet (as baby claimed)! And it's extraordinarily sweet!
Us in the Romantic Scene
Messy Take-Off
Grilled Prawn
Grilled Squid
Fresh Oysters
Sashimi
These somehow feel different, they don't taste so 'gao' in either piece. It's like, tuna is not so tuna, salmon is not so salmon. But, we still took quite a lot, just so obsessed!
Platter
A bit dry for the duck sliced but nice! Seaweed has heavy taste as well, slightly spicy.
Edamame
Not so fresh, very hard to get that peas out of the wrapper! Too much of crystal salts over 'em. Still a Sushi Zanmai Edamame Fan!
Secret Recipe Scallop
Very tasty! It tastes more like those mentai they have in most of the Japanese restaurants, this is a bit spicy, but creamy and good on the other hand! Fantabulous!
As mentioned earlier, we order 4 times, but turn out only two sets were served. Well if we were told nicely that's fine but none of them update us what's going on with our order, so, disappointment!
Closer View
Yummy yum yum creamy scallop!!!
Cheesy Oyster
Unlike the one we had in The Mill, instead of cooked oyster, they have it fresh and top up only the cheesy serving, Nice! Cheesy, milky, they mix it up with tiny diced carrots as well, very tasty!
Closer View
Cheesy and creamy, how could you resist!

Last but not least, I would like to thank a waitress named June, who served us throughout the time with patience and passion. She can barely speak English but whatever we requested for, is duly served. Should have just ordered those scallops from her to skip that disappointing part. A big Thank You!

That's all for food, and yes, I still owe you the Universal Studio Singapore post. Coming up next, in Nee Yaa's Ordinary!

Singapore - Day I, III, IV

The date was 09.06.2011 until 12.06.2011, we took a flight by Singapore Airline to Changi Airport, SINGAPORE Here We Come!!!

Well, to have this post slightly organized, let's start from Day 1 aye? It's more about travelling for food and shopping, also we went Universal Studio Singapore for a wide-eye wandering. So, here we go!
Day 1
On Board
Kids:" Man, they have TV in this plane! Cool!" Yes, they always complain that Air Asia doesn't have TV screen to keep them occupied.
Only served for Kids
Foreigner, fill up the Immigration Form please
Long wait
Sommerset 313
Went to Food Republic, they have "Not-so-friendly Face", "Very-long-black-face Cleaners", "Not-so-fresh Fresh Fruit Juice", all so commercialised till they forget what the hell they're serving, pathetic.
Very Cute Maple Ad!
Slurpee Big Bang Cup - Design 1
Design 2 is still yet to be launched, any Singaporean mind to get me one? :)
Big Yawn
"We are the Future!"
First time of them heading the sky bridge in Havelock Road, and requested to take a picture! How adorable, a naive mind thinking that everyone is hungered for.
"Jie, faster take picture, it's our first time on the sky bridge!"
Riverview Hotel
So called the 4-star hotel, but we experienced very bad services, they charged us for 3 rooms while we only need 1, saying that my mum clicked the website 3 times to check-in, but the receipt shows only 1.
Pathetic still, after 20 minutes of explanation they still stand their stand, and my dad got mad and screwed them up, 5 minutes later they cancel the rooms. Being sexist or what, I pity my mum, the manager-on-duty Mr Roger showed NO RESPECT at all by accusing my mum on her 'mistake' instead of his hotel's, KNS!
4-star? I would make it 2 now. You can kiss your stars good bye.
By the way, thank you Ms Jane - The Receptionist, that helped us throughout the whole process, you can just do way better than that mister back there, salute!
The Merry Men
For dinner, met a man looking for his missing son, hope he found him, God bless.
Selected House Wine with Iced Water
Wild Mushroom Soup
Till the Last Drop
It was this great, until he can't give up the very last drop.
Pork Sausage
It comes with wild mushrooms, slightly roasted, butter mashed potato along with mushroom sauce, sprinkles of black pepper, wonderful!
Medium Well - Beef Steak
We requested for medium well but turn out to be a medium rare one, thing is, it's so juicy and thick in taste! See the potatoes there? Look normal to you but it's crunchy on the skin and smoothie soft at the inside! Just best in everything!
Carbonara with Bacons
Yes, another 4-star! Unlike other carbonara, this piece here is just nice in place, not too sticky not too creamy, comes with sliced bacon, some fatty oil with 'em but, forget 'bout the diet, the saltiness of those bacons match so well with the cream. Fantastic!
Tomato with Toasted Bread
There is a name for this dish but I just can't recall it. Anyway this is just some normal sliced toasted bread, topped up with diced tomatoes and seasoning with herbs. Sweet and fresh as you can see!
Very Cosy 'The Merry Men'
Day 2
Furama Centre
Heading Chinatown Complex!
Chinatown Point
Food Court @ Chinatown Complex
McD McNuggets
Kungfu Panda II - Happy Meal
Kids with Brunches
Dry Beef Noodle
Mum used to eat this almost everyday (that's what she claimed) during her studies in SG, saying that the old man cooked better than this current aunty, thus a 4-star noodle just got 3-star left. What's nice 'bout this is the beef meatball there is humongous! The gravy there is a bit tasteless though...
Beef Soup + Sliced Beef
And this deserves a 4-star! The sliced beef is so thin and smooth that can just chew it away with few bites! And the soup there is so 'gao' in taste as well, till the very last drop!
Shopping @ OG Mall
Lan Kee Hot & Cold Drinks
We picked this 'cause it's just close to our table but turn out their stuff is quite nice!
Chop Hean Kuan Dim Sum
We saw there's another stall down the road that making all these 'bao' and dim sum, looks tempting so we decided to give it a try!
Iced Syrup
A normal recipe for my family, just plain sugar syrup, evaporated milk and ice. The way they mix the sugar syrup, I kinda like that idea, it tastes differently from different bites! Not bad!
Egg Tart
Well I guess this is non-halal, but the aroma of the egg is there, nice! And of course the crunchie crunch, all time favourite for the kids!
Mango Longan
A refreshing ice blended during the hot afternoon, nice and sweet with tiny diced mango in it (I would prefer a bigger dice!) Yea, they can improve this with the size of the mango! 5 pieces of longan on the side, YUM!
Pork Bao
Look at that filling, and the 'bao's skin, I would say it's the exact opposite way of how those 'commercial baos' are like. As a meat lover, this is it! Look at that, just a slight touch up for vegetable, and that's all - MEAT!
Me + MRT ticket
Pardon me, I hardly appear in any of these pictures so... Yes, the MRT ticket! For a single journey and non-SG president, you can use this by purchasing through the machine, and then get the refund for the MRT card of $1. Remember to claim it!!!
Lovely Kids @ Vivo City
Spaghetti Bolognese
Normal recipe, nothing special, can't really expect much from the food court aye?
Fried Carrot Cake and Egg
This is awesome! Something simple but so tasty! Carrot cake is so soft, the egg is tasting good with slight sprinkle of salt and green onion, nice!
Fish Ball Noodle
I'm amazed by this 'bian' noodle too, just some fish balls and fish cakes, they make it taste so nice in the noodle and compliment so well with those side dishes.
Fried Kuey Teow
More detailed one
Mum says SG has a saying, go to the stall that people are queuing for! And yes they have this very long queue and wallah! N.I.C.E!!! Halal I guess, every piece of kuey teow inside is deeply in taste, big prawns, big fish cakes, and big portion! Worth a try!
CK Undergarment Dispenser
Something funny to share about, honestly, will guy actually play this vending machine to get the underwear, or just for the sake of playing it?
Sanrio @ Vivo City
Gippsland Double Cream
This tiny lil bottle of double cream cost us around $10! Seriously this bottle is heavenly fantastic! My father is obsessed over strawberries and cream and this is exactly what it is for!
Humongous Strawberry
This actually comes in a package inclusive of 15 strawberries, cost around $20 - imported! Not only about the size, also the sweetness and see that color?! Very tempting aye?
With double cream and sprinkle of sugar, wash the berries a bit and dip and dunk! Wallah! There goes the 4-star DIY dessert!

Day 4
Please pardon me for not including Day 3 in this post, as it's a special post only for Universal Studio Singapore, I shall share it real soon after this lovely post :)
Food Court @ Tiong Bahru Market
Very huge food court, after one round of walking, again we notice some stalls with long queue, we stopped by and ordered!

The above 3 pictures are stalls that selected  by us. Spent around 8 to 10 minutes of queuing but worth the time! Check these out!
Char Siew Rice
Okay this char siew here, sliced nicely - not too thick nor too thin, very tender at the inside and amazingly the skin is very crunchy! Of course the char siew sauce! Sweet enough that can have it plainly just with the rice!
Fish Ball Noodle
Just like the noodle in Johor, they make it with tomato sauce, yes something different but I still prefer soy sauce type of noodle.
Marinated of Everything
Inclusive of 'Siew Yuk', Sliced Duck, Egg, and 'Mui Choi'
Marinated so gao that everything taste so good! You won't want to give up that sauce there, pour it all over your rice, side it with a slice of duck and egg yolk, yummm...
Kuey
They name it kuey which I don't really know why, but mum said this is another kind of 'noodle', again till the very last drop, I haven't really taste the texture of it but the soup is awesome!
Black Rice
This might be fattening, but hey, every single piece of rice is wrapped up with sauce!
Secret Recipe
Like the Tawau way, we love chilli that has squeeze of lime in it and this is it! It's like spicy and sour and the same time with the marinated meat, oh yesh!!!
Hahaha, hungry already? (I hope so...) There's more to come on the upcoming post, stay tune for Universal Studio Singapore - More about Food and Travelling!
I do hope you enjoy this post too, aren't you?
Good day, Reader.
