22.02.2010

As days passed, try to conclude what I've done lately, then I found out most of 'em are useless. Here's a list of 'em, have 'fun' knowing more about me :)

a) Work! Schedules are set few weeks earlier, no changes are available so I'm stick to it! Good news is, I finally got my first partner card (where Malaysia is damn 'kiam siap' in giving me one)! It works like a debit card exclusively for Starbucks and guess what, this green green card authorized me a 30% discount on all products! Weeeeee~

As mentioned, "LOVE WHAT YOU DO" - I mentioned earlier in the previous post, I simply love the Pounds, some people perhaps :D

b) My handicraft! Check these out, I made these out of boredom, simply because I dislike the oyster card's casing! Green card holder is for Fishy, hope she at least likes it :s And the mushies, am trying to do like the Maple mushroom but it seems to me... Not so ;p
First time using 'blanket stitch', some mistakes on it :O

I know it's not that obvious but it's the 'iPod apple' =x
And that's the application in iPhone!
Cute!
c) Gong Xi Fatt Cai! Unfortunately, I can't get involved this year in Tawau, obviously, my family misses me ;) Had a video call with them! Best wishes to all! Also special thanks to Queenny, love the card, it means a lot to me :) And Carian, thank you for all the hearts and kisses!

3D! Gong Xi Gong Xi!

Carian's handwritting!
d) Weather forecasting! Staying here in UK, one of the most irritating part is the weather. I'm all time on the forecast just to prevent myself from being frozen up! After all, Spring is approaching and finally there's a sign of it! (even just for that one day!)

Look at the dark shadow of mine! Miss the Sun...

e) It's Valentines! Not my turn this round as well :s As we're far apart, celebrating is not possible! But check these out, look at what my friend got: Gorgeous! (just to share this :)

Christopher! 真有你的!XD
These are BIG! And Cute *~*

OK! So far for now, guess my life ain't that boring!? You might not realize, there's non stated above is related to my coursework! :D Well, think I'll just set aside everything, yea EVERYTHING and get myself into studies seriously (hopefully...)

Adios people, Gong Xi Fatt Cai again!

xoxo

'The' UK!

I have been receiving messages from friends, asking me "How's UK?" First of all, thank you people for concerning, they're simply warm and caring :)

Well this question ever came into my mind few years back, was wondering people flying out of the country to study, "How could it be, when it's my turn...?" There it is I'm now in Oxford! For not having much of luck, sh*ts always happen to me, having said that staying here, beside having the beatiful scenery, peaceful and slow pace of lifestyle, other than that, UK - is simple and nothing much to talk about.

**Please be informed that this is just my personal opinion and in fact, Experiences I encountered throughout these few months.

Before departing, 2 issues first came to my mind: Can I cope with the weather there? AND; How serious will the discrimination issue be? Proudly present, I'm a Malaysian, having being discriminated is never a problem! BUT? As far as you concern, Oxford, is so called a 'Smart' or 'Educated' place to live in, and what I'm going to tell you about, it is actually not, as great as you think!

Ever we (all time hanging out friends) went shopping, a woman was mad at us for no reason, and bang us with trolley! People were cutting our queue for ONLY God knows why they can still pretend, as if we're not in the line. They were talking to the air, while expecting that you can hear about the content. Why so? Cause for God's sake, they dislike your face but still need to talk to you, no choice but to speak to the 'air' instead.

Incident happened to another friend of mine, having people stop their car, scrolling down the window and said: "You smelly asian..." To be frank, you're the one who always rush out from house without showering or washing face.

I was asking why Malaysia never sets policy, hopefully the earth will circulate smoothers, I was wrong. When UK comes to policy, it never comes to an end! This is what happen all the time to me, when I was expecting parcels. "I'm sorry I can't deal with it, please allow a 48-hour investigation and we'll get back to you ASAP." In fact, I seriously waited for don't know how many '48-hour' and at the end of the day, the parcel went missing. I still prefer the phrase I always use in Pos Malaysia - "Kak/ Bang, boleh tolong tak? Nak tanya je tapi tak nak queue la....."

Why am I so into Starbucks? Seriously, you're working for the sake of Pounds, why not love it as you're wasting time hate it?

We were waiting time passes for our movie, went in McD for a drink, youngster was throw french fries at us, hitting old ladies in the WC, shouting and yelling like no body's business, walking 'kaki ayam' on the street! Obviously, these are none of my business, but hello? It happened in Oxford, and the fries thrown were aiming us!

"I love UK!" Hell no, when people says that, simply because they get to hang out with the right people, ignoring all these shits! Well I was being convinced that UK is lovely, why not trying to love it? Please trust me when I say I did, and it doesn't work. The more I don't care, the more obvious they're going to do shits to you. Will you still be positive, when your parcel went missing? When people intentionally attack you? When drivers close the bus door leaving you outside the bus, not letting you in? When problems occurred and called up, they ask you to call them back next week? What more to say?

This is life.

Be positive people, shits happen. What to do to deal with it?

"Eat it lah.....!"

Adios!

To Draw, To Love, To Show!

It's another week now in Feb, a month ago we were just celebrating new year, anyway, I really do hope time flies faster!

It had been 3 months plus in Starbucks, to be frank I'd been trying hard to let them know I can draw, at least 'beautify' their sign board! Finally I got the chance! Check these out:-

A start of new week! We're currently brewing Verona, full-bodied, full aroma coffee :)

Another piece of sign board: - Sulawesi: Having it Bold, Herbal and Earthy.

Mr. Yong (former art teacher:), guess I didn't let you down, I'm now drawing for Starbucks Oxford! Well at least the mix and match of the colors are not going wrong, main and minor characters are propotionate! Actually proud of my works even though they ain't great :D

Mr. Jeff's class tomorrow, so I think that's all for now! Adios people ;)

p/s: Please anyone post the AEC Tawau recording online (on 07/02 - 9pm, AEC)!!!

Me, and Starbucks!

Just got back from work, another tired working day! Well, I'm going to share some experiences of mine, bits and dots 'bout Starbucks!

Got this job, lucky or not it's your say, but so far for me, it's alright. What did I gain? Experiences, friendship, ups and downs, most importantly, the 'Pounds'!

At first, I can't cope with it. It's all about politics! When you're an Asian, you got nothing much, but to prove that you really can do it! I did it. Trust me, I'm good *evil*!

I met Salvatore, an Italian tough guy! Best regional manager of year 2008, not someone that you can mess around, when you lost something, even the tidy little elastic from the pump, you're pleaded guilty with death sentence! :D After all these while, I got a phrase from him: "Neeyaa, you're good! You're an exception!" I'm glad. My hard works, besides being paid, they're all being appreciated.

Karolina from Poland, Miriam from Spain, Dina from Greece, Anda from the UK, would like to thank you ladies here, for guiding me, for trusting me, and now being a friend to me, forgetting the post you and I are in. Aaron from Australia, Monica from Poland, Lucy from China, thank you for backing me up all the time when I did mistakes.

I run the till, make the coffee, tea and blended frap, wipe the walls, machines, casing... Tiring but enjoying 'em to the fullest. Can't describe the passion of it in words, to know more? Drop by Cornmarket St. Starbucks, and you'll see the flow, the passion, the laughter, hidden 'politics' and more! It's not just about the beverages!

Not much of pictures taken but, this is me with the very owned apron :)

Starbucks promoting RED charity!

Back to the 'Starbucks' apron :)

Ciao Ciao people!

p/s: Personally, I miss the Green Tea Latte from MY, there's none here in UK :/

Happy Month-sary Darling! Miss you, tons....
